Eidulfitr

Fireworks at small scale to celebrate Eid, but overall it was soo merry for the whole neibourhood..We could enjoy bigger, and more vibrant fireworks from every corner of the neigbourhood and it was all loud and seems to match the festive mood!

A start of Eid Holiday

Today onwards would mark the beginning of the Eid holidays eventhough the actual Eid (1st of Syawal) would be a few days away..but this would be an opportunity not to be missed for all of us. Of course, for us muslims would be busy with the preparation and all, however i think tge non-muslim would take the opportunity of a long holiday to go for a vacation, which if it were locally, it will cobtributr to heavy traffic

3am journey

Only during Ramadhan, you'd find hoardes of people queing up at McDonalds at 3am, and queing up for a pit stop at any rest area along the hiway also at 3am! That's when the journey of majority of city denizen towards designated country homes begins!

Memory of sambal bilis

'Sambal bilis' turn out to be such a sentimental idiom to me. Looking back, I remember sharing it with my dear room mate while we were in dormitary back in Semambu, and at that moment I didn't anticipate that dish was something to her as it was something to me. I mean I was lucky enough to have such dish being hand delivered 500km away by my parents, and she had none..but, I'm glad to share it with her and I miss her now..

Drool for ice cream

It was so hot during the day, and I feels like having an ice cream so if it means that I have to wait until late at night, so be it! Well, we  decided to go for a quick snack of cold sundaes at nearest McD (well, the children refused to have the ordinary ice cream by 7-11..yeah, yeahh..i've spoilt them, i know!) Anyway, they seems to have a great  time even though we only had ice cream so, I guess the treat is worth more than the value it cost us.

SYABAS:It doesn't fit the translation

In Malay, if somebody says 'syabas' to you, it definitely means 'congratulation' but when a company use such idiom for its name and it doesn't reflect the actual literal meaning of it, well what else could be said! And here goes my two-cents opinion on a company that monopoly the water supply in Selangor after having to face their officers for a development project that I'm working on behalf of my firm.

On top of all, as a first-timer searching for their location seems to be a daunting task, for instance there ain't any initial signage that could lead me to the building which i think everybody only knows as Plaza Pantai. I believe, I would still acknowledgde the brown color building next to Telekom Menara Rebung as Plaza Pantai and not as Wisma Goshen or any other names that were given to each of the block. Secondly, identifying the location is such a gruelling task given the fact that the given place of meeting was Level 2 and there's none whatsoever of No. 2 inside the numerical list of the lift. Ain't it better to acknowledge it as a 'mezzanine floor' as level 2 only appears for people with the company's compound and not any outsiders. Thirdly, their management should seriously consider an improvisation onto their workstations layout or t rather their working layout which seems to be at such haphazard manner if we are talking about proper design layout! Also, I find the signage for the building's basement parking as confusing and being charged a flat rate of RM6 per entry seems to be humongous!! the meeting lasted for an hour, of course it took me an additional 20minutes in search for the actual location of the meeting room!

Am seriously in deep pity for their staff for having to working in such 'cramp and congested' office and the whole ambience was similar to a gov office of the 80's..so cant blame them much for not having much spirit to work.shame on the top management of syabas!!and syabas for the staff who remain working and trying to give their best. Of course, some of their policies sucks!!

Nilai 3 during Ramadhan

I was asked to drive and accompany my sis-in-law to Nilai 3. As I always wonder what-on-earth does people find it as attractive enough to go there and shop, again this time around I also wonder what does flock of people doing there. I knew my SIL had a specific cookie jar to look for in order to complete her pre-order cookies, but it cant be the same with most of these people, can it? And eventhough you drive around a few blocks that there are there, each rows would comprises of similar merchandise; there're always shops selling carpets-variations of it, there're also shop selling artificial flowers and its pots and baskets and there are mainly shops that sell clothes, yards of fabrics, hijab and etc. I have this perceptual disorders looking at those vast selections of the same materials again and again..And i'm glad i'm just acting as driver not being part of the crowd!

Ramadhan Bazaar

It's been long while since the last time I step foot at any of those Bazaar which seems to spruce up like a mushroom after rainy days, hence every Ramadhan. Browsing through stalls after stalls with an empty stomach is not a healthy thing to do-you'd tend to drool at every bits of food that're on display, and those smells..OMG! Well, that's one of other reason that I prefer not to go to any of those Bazaar. Another main reason is mainly due to the fact that most of the time we may bought those food out of cautious and it may turn to be such a waste of monet due to the quality of taste that certain food turn out to be, which leave me with big question mark of 'why such dummy at kitchen would dream to sell such lousy food?'
So, there I was taking a stroll, a few feet away from rows of stalls, taking a peek from the sides of my hubby's shoulder, not willing to be 'cheated into buying' by simply looking at the presentation of the food. Well, I let the children do the selection!!  ;)

'strolling' under the heat..

I was so dreaded to go. This sort of itinerary was something that I was hoping  to make away with it during Ramadhan, but somehow as a project consultant, every wish that came from the client shall be address diligently..So leaving Subang around 10 minutes to 7, I managed to reach my project site in Kuantan around 930am and it was already showing 28 degree Celsius.

We had a briefing session first and an hour after that, we started my worse nightmare of the day, 'strolling under the heat', inspecting one completed building by another and there is 16 blocks altogether!! By the time it ends, the time is showing 30 minutes after 2 and it's already reaching 35 degree Celcius!! oh'la'la!! And at this moment, nothing could make me feels better other than a dip into a cold tub filled with bubble bath  and a huge bottle of iced-cold gatorade!! BUT i'm fasting, remember?!! *doink*

Smooth traffic

Based on my observation, the morning traffic has not been as bad as July for the past  few days since beginning of August. It has now take me barely a 20 minutes drive to the office and the same goes with the evening traffic. Perhaps, we ought to proposed a new clock-in-clock-out time to the management for the rest of the months. I would definitely fancy the 830 to 430 timing!!  :)
Have a great day!

Iftar with dotting grandparents..

It's the first weekend of Ramadhan, and it's the opportunity that i've been waiting for-to go home to my parents and had our family meal together. It's going to be a tradition that I'll be praticing with my children, that no matter how far you go you need to crawl back to where your home is, every first weekend of Ramadhan! Of course my parents were extra happy to received their grandchildren home!! And it was extra special that all my brothers could join us as well!

Living the good life!! and saying goodbye was hard to do..we'll be back for Syawal, Insya Allah!!
