St Michael Ipoh gets a bogus-bomb call!!

As our FB conversation caught-up about a bogus phone call of bomb being placed at the school, which later drag on to reconciliation of those great memories we had back then at that school . . . And, as for me, eventhough it was just a brief stay, but still i'm proud to say "hey, i've been to that school" ;)

Anyway, it's a hoax. The bomb threat is a hoax. I think there's been such hoax before. Is it a gimmick just because St michael Institution is celebrating their centennial celebration this year? I don't think so, Michaelians are far better off when it comes to gimmick, and a bomb-hoax would be such a lame thing not up to their standard.!

Anyway, glad it was just a hoax..

Architecture:Miscalculation perhaps?

Six huge exhaust fans has attracted me more than anything else of this building. Clearly it is an apartment, with commercial spaces on its lower levels. I presume those exhaust fans are to cater to numbers of eateries that are there. However, what brings to my attention is what I presume the miscalculation by the engineers - previously the exhaust fan were erected with those flue actually facing towards the building. Over the time, it leaves those greasy darker stain on the wall which I believe gives the reason for the flue to change its direction. Even though it has now were set to facing outward, the damaged has been done and nobody seems to take any further action of those stain. If I were to have my property there, it surely deteriorated the value of the property and leaving me with clueless action on how to have my property repainted. Luckily none of those were mine!

It's Mies Van der Rohe's 126th birthday!

So, today, the architecture world is 'celebrating'  Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe's 126th birthday! He is one of the legendary architects that we were introduced to at the early stage of our architectural studies. His design has been well received and has been referred to by newbies like me :)

Photo of Crown Hall of Illinois Institute of Technology (as shown below) is one of those 'architecture wonder' that we have to 'study' as part of our appreciation to our 'legend'. I think I still have some sketch of it somewhere in my portfolio folder. ;)

Glory sunset

Spotted glorious scarlet setting on the west horizon at the end of a day..
Why do I snap this?
The sun appears so spherically round and by missing the shots in seconds it has already set into the hills over the horizon. At this very moment, I do wish that I have a telephoto-lens with me as it is actually far more majestic view in reality than this photo has captured. I guess you need to use your imagination to visualize how wonderful it actually appear to be at that very moment. ;)

650am: the Village being dimly lit

640am: the crescent moon is still visible

Spot Venus & Jupiter on your clear sky

Experiencing Teluk Chempedak

Seriously, am I? From this end, I really need to feel those sands stroking my feet.

Experiencing Hyatt Kuantan

view of Teluk Chempedak
I have been travelling back and forth from Kuala Lumpur to Kuantan on monthly basis for the past 5 years. Most of the time, if there's a need for me to stay, I would choose Vistana as I find it as it fit my specification perfectly  in terms of the location, their hospitality and the comfortable size of their standard rooms. And for what seems to be the final leg of KL-Kuantan journey, I chose to splurge at Hyatt Regency. Fronting the ever famous beach of Kuantan-the Teluk Chempedak, Hyatt has been sync to what Kuantan has to offer since more than 3 decades ago, the beaches and resort style living.

Hospitality and service would receive my full commendation. Check-in was fast. However, I kind of feel that the room kind of 'missing it brilliant sparkle' of a 5-star hotel should be. Perhaps it has come to a time where it really need serious refurbish for the rooms. The internal color scheme was so monochromatic that it has became to mundane to appreciate as a whole therefore it simply turn out to be just a 'plain room'!! However, I appreciate their welcoming fruit basket which come in a good selections of fruits and not just the apple, orange and banana.

My room located at the ground floor and facing the hillside with immediate view of the tennis court. I was impressed with the landscape though as it has been nurtured well and has matured into a lush gardens and very well maintained. Kudos for the gardener. This is the sort of 'sparkle' that I look for.

On dispatching task : Part 1

Am gonna be on the move for some dispatching task, from one end to another end of Klang Valley.
All the best!

A stress-free journey from Subang Jaya to Setiawangsa via DUKE Hiway. You just need to take Subang exit into NKVE and through Jalan Duta into DUKE and goes all the way until you spot the Setiawangsa exit. You will not come across any massive congestion of MRR2 or the Jalan Ampang crawl whatsoever.

Went to catch the movie SEEFOOD at Subang Parade recently opened cinema- the MBO. Cool movie, not bad for the 'first time player' of animation movie, almost similar to NEMO quality.
Take a watch!

Pahang Sport School: A new milestone

A new milestone, indeed.

The first photo was captured during the earlier stage of work where we called 'site clearing stage' where the appointed contractor have to clear out the site from whatever that is there and to achieve the desired platform level as per design and that was in early 2008. The second photo was captured in February 2012. It has now well developed and ready to be use. Am so proud to be part of what I would like to acknowledge as 'Malaysian history' as this is the third Sport School being built in Malaysia!

Insanely crazy construction world

I simply don't understand it; why people who called themselves contractors can't adhere to basic ettiquette of construction work and yet they called themselves 'a contractor'? How I wish I could just 'get disconnected' from all these people and enjoy my day at the beach instead! Huhhh

Staring up at the night pendant, with such hope that tomorrow would turn out as bright as the light instead of potential gloom all over.

People watch at dawn

It's still dark when I leave home for the community airport. Personally, I prefer to be at the airport early so that I dont have to rush things and at least I could enjoy a cuppa while making use of all my senses; eyes- people-watching, ears-a good tunes from my playlist, tastebud-savouring each drop of coffee ;)
Alright, 20minutes later, the last drop of coffee gone and am into the other room. Oh, by the way, I'm heading east today.
