National Museum Kuala Lumpur

A visit to Museum Negara. What should you expect of a museum?! Personally, I enjoy each of my visit to any museums as I believe in practicality. Getting yourself immersed in all those 'live information' that were put to display is much more fun for us to learn something new rather than having to read it through your history text books.

However, I do have some tiny bit of reservation with museums, generally in Malaysia: (1)most museum were not dust-off diligently, maybe they did their routine maintenance but perhaps they have to reconsider the intervals. Dust, tiny bit of dust and old accumulated dust gives me some sort of skin allergic. I always end up having a swollen-itchy fingers in the middle of each visits. (2)the management seems does not being bothered at all with the quality of air circulating within the museums. Airconditioning were mostly not functioning at its best. (3)the quality of display- which seems it were placed at each cubicle 'to rot away'. I hardly sees each item being 'maintained' after it was left in those glass compartment.

(4).please don't give away the entrance for free. Nothing comes free of current state of living, so charge the visitors appropriately.

Golden sunset in Kuala Lumpur

Had an afternoon appointment at The Ampwalk in Jalan Ampang which basically 30km east of Subang. The appointment lasted into the peak-hours, and with the contributing weather factor, it easily multiplies one's ETA. On paper it was listed as 30minutes, but my actual journey this evening took 90minutes altogether. 

Anyway, this 'sinful' shot was taken along DUKE hiway, as the sun setting beautifully at the west horizon. Of course, an abrupt cellca-shot would not do much justice in justifying this particular sunset, but am sharing it away, somehow. Sweet dreams.

The Sphere Bangsar South

Bangsar South is not indirectly within the same neighbourhood of the hip and happening Bangsar! It's not even Bangsar's 'next-door' neighbour. Bangsar South and Bangsar were actually separated by Bukit Pantai and the Federal Highway. It is actually located within the vicinity of former squarters area known as Kampung Kerinchi and closeby to International Broadcasting Centre-Angkasapuri.

I believe renaming the area as Bangsar South is part of rebranding process which need to be done in order to increase the sale-value of the area. I guess, there isnt any commercial benefit having to be associated with a slump-squarters area eventhough Kampung Kerinchi started as the earliest residential village in Kuala Lumpur along with Kampung Abdullah Hukum and Kampung Baru.

Architecture has it's certain language, and its particular language usually being depicted by it's designer which usually comes with two school of thoughts; either you go along with the similar language of your neighbour or be totally foreign about it. After all, beauty depends on the eyes of the beholder ;)

Starhill: experiencing the new millenium

I have to make a confession.
Even though I'm building up my career within the architecture industry, I'm not particularly interested to spend my time leisurely in shopping complexes. Most of the time, it was more of work related rather than personal interest. Therefore, I don't think I would make a good architect when it comes to retail and commercial complexes. So, I was taking the opportunity of killing time in between appointments to stroll around Starhill in Bukit Bintang area of Kuala Lumpur. I think it looks differently from the way I remember it from way back a couple of decades ago. Believe me, it was such gap of time. I may gawk at how different the place appears to be, but it has not change me any bit to spark the interest into such atmosphere.
However, if you love live music, there is a jazz band strumming an easy listening number at the concourse arena. Enjoy your day, should it be your cup of tea, as it wasn't mine. I prefer coffee, black and bold! :)

Owh, another thing, should I be able to afford all those luxury, branded goods I don't think I would have it from any of the outlet here. I would rather fly myself to Paris for a new LV or LA for any of those american brand stuff. And since am not a brand-conscious person, so it doesn't apply which ever way that is. Cheers.
