the second best time?

"We often try to accomplish something big without realizing that the greatest part of life is MADE UP of little things.." ~ Stephen Covey
So, in my case, 'the best time to plant a tree is perhaps 10 years ago!'
but I guess, the second best time shall be NOW?!

What do we call a gathering of Architects?

It is interesting to come across this particular article by Archdaily. All this while, when we learn our grammar or vocab at school we are sure to come across a particular lesson on 'what do we call a group of birds? or what does a gathering of sheep known as?" and there we know that it will be term as  'a flock of birds' and 'a herd of sheep' for the latter. (Oh, you could get to know more on what other animals or people were called when they're in groups by visiting Oxford Dictionaries or Northern Frairie Wildlife Research Centre or you could read from James Lipton's book entitled "An Exaltation of Larks" 2nd edition (Penguin Books 1977). Birders interested in avian nomenclature should see Bruce Campbell and Elizabeth Lack's "A Dictionary of Birds" (Buteo Books 1985).

But, it was the question on 'what do we call a collection of Architects?' that bring out the interest in me for this particular topic. I have never thought of such term, therefore it is an interesting topic to linger with..there seems to be lots of suggestion to go with and I'm not sure which would be a suitable term..  :)

IKEA: Fancy for lunch que?

Queing up for lunch is a rare experience for me nowadays as I usually packed my lunch or grab it someplace that's barely any need for que. But to que up this long just to have ikea meatballs on Saturday afternoon is outregously a waste of time. Food is abundant in malaysia especially if you are in Klang Valley, where variations are endless..so get a life people!! I did.

Work & leisure

Had to arrange a meeting with my associate engineer outside office hours and out of the office, so that we could tapped into issues out of office norm or the technical norm. If it is part of norm, how do you explain the 8pm to 12 midnite stretch over a grande cup of machiato?  :)

Architecture School Guide

While on my morning reads, I've come across a particular article on 'Architecture School Guide' which cited as follows, and being somebody who's 'been there, done that', I think IT IS A FACT, practically especially on  the fact that there's no single factor that could actually labelled any particular school as good or bad.

"What makes a good architecture school? Clearly there is no single factor that comprises a good, or even a great, architecture school. Different aspects are important to different people. One key element to a good school, no matter what type, is whether and how it teaches critical thinking skills. That’s because critical thinking will help you become more professionally agile and give you more options, especially when, not if, the global economy dips again. It also gives you the ability to assess whether a design is good or not: what makes it good and how can you replicate that process successfully. In short, critical thinking allows you to evaluate design, as well as your overall professional trajectory not only from an aesthetic standpoint, but culturally, ecologically, historically, and most important, practically."
